Discussion session in Lebanon
On 31 July, the Secretary General of the Council of Anna Dapshevichyute, international Secretary Lavon Marozau and Chairperson of the Board Dzmitry Herylovich participated in the discussion session in Lebanon. It was attended by representatives of Lebanese youth NGOs and youth wings of political parties.
Representatives of the Council spoke about the development of the Belarusian youth movement and made a report on the situation of human rights in our country, such as violations of freedom of expression, freedom of the media, freedom of Association. The RADA also presented a list of international conventions that have not been ratified by the Belarusian government.
After the session of questions and answers, participants asked questions about the political system of Belarus, the role of civil society in the country and the challenges facing Belarusian youth.
“I believe that such partnership visits are very useful for all parties, because each time new views and new approaches to current affairs and problems are opened. Each side during our meetings found new potential opportunities. One of the topics was the mechanism for building the process of developing a National youth policy. From the side of the RADA there is a great interest in this and we learned how this model works in Lebanon to further promote it in its activities,” – said the Chairperson of the RADA Dzmitry Herylovich.
We note the importance of intercultural youth exchange and thank all participants for their valuable advice and useful experience.
