“RADA” at the European Youth Forum General Assembly in Tromso!

On 8-9 of May BNYC “RADA”’s Board Chairperson Aleksandra Dojnicz as well as our International secretary, Yuliya Ralko, travelled to Tromsø (Norway) — the European Youth Capital and the northernmost city to ever receive this designation. A cold (+1 C) and perpetually sunny arctic day environment became the background for a major youth policy event of 2026.

The European Youth Forum (YFJ) General Assembly is crucial for determining policy and leadership for Europe’s largest youth platform. During it the new Board was elected for a 2-year mandate and strategic priorities set. We are very pleased that “RADA” took part in the GA and the vote — and we are ready to share our report.

After speed dating with the candidates, reports, and debates the General Assembly has voted for the new Board for 2026-28, Financial Control Commission and appointed the Consultative Body on Membership Applications to help European family expand. Starting 1 July 2026, the newly elected Board will work for two years to translate Youth opinion into real impact on EU policies.

“RADA” warmly welcomes the new Board for 2026-2028:

President: Caillum Hedderman

Vice president: Chloë Cauchi

Members: Daria Burii, Agata Berenika Cybulska, Aisling Maloney, David Ruíz Sánchez, Maria Markkula, Marin Capan, Mark Healy, Vita Davydova.

Apart from Board elections, Aleksandra and Yuliya also voted on ideas from the youth on how to better shape the immediate future. All in all 12 motions were passed, on such topics as quality employment, visa barriers, protecting European values, safeguarding independent public service media, AI threats and AI in schools, and others.

Yuliya Ralko, “RADA”‘s International secretary:

Warm congratulations from RADA to our friends and partners! We are very happy that the International Secretary of NYCU has been elected to the Board of the European Youth Forum, becoming the first Ukrainian woman in the YFJ Board. This is an important and well-deserved recognition, and we fully support her in this new role.

We are also very happy for GoFor, the Turkish National Youth Council, which became a full member of YFJ at this General Assembly in Tromsø. This is a major achievement for GoFor and an important step for the representation of Turkish youth in the European youth space, especially at a time when young people in Türkiye continue to stand up for their rights, democracy, and participation.

Congratulations to both NYCU and GoFor. We are proud to stand with you!

The next Statutory Meeting is planned in six months in Destelheide, Belgium — and “RADA” will be there to give voice to the Belarusian youth.
