How do dictatorships emerge — and how we can resist them today? Join an international training in Germany, August 23 – 29

Are you interested in topics like historical memory, and resistance to state pressure? Do you want to understand how dictatorships emerge — and how we can resist them today?
Apply by June 30!
We invite young Belarusians (aged 20 – 27) to take part in the international educational training Reflect to Connect, which will take place on August 23 – 29, 2025 at the European Youth Education and Meeting Centre in Weimar (EJBW), Germany.
Together with participants from Germany and Italy, you will explore how authoritarian and totalitarian regimes came to power, compare historical experiences, reflect on memory and repression, and look for ways to resist — through education, art, and collective action.
Reflect to Connect is the right program for you if:
- You’re interested in historical memory, civil society, and the fight against propaganda,
- You work (or want to work) in informal education, culture, or social work,
- You have personal experience with repression or are active in civic initiatives,
- You want to become part of an international community and contribute to resisting authoritarianism.
Over the program, you’ll take part in:
- Creative and historical workshops,
- Visits to memorial sites and museums,
- Exchanges with participants from Germany and Italy,
- Joint creation of tools for youth and political education.
Participation is free. Organisers cover accommodation and meals, and reimburse travel costs (up to 270 euros).
The working language is English, so a good command of English is required.
